On Thursday, 24 September 2009, an expert conference named „Czech Presidency in the Context of Cooperation of the French-Czech-Swedish Trio: Challenges and Opportunities.“ Took place in Prague. The conference, held under auspices of Štefan Füle, Minister for European Affairs of the Czech Republic, was organised by the Association for International Affairs with the support of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Embassy of Sweden in Prague.
The goal of this expert conference is to evaluate the performance of the Czech Presidency with a strong focus on the framework of the France – Czech Republic – Sweden Presidency Trio. The event welcomed more than 80 representatives of government officials, academia and professionals in the sphere of business and diplomacy as well as interested public. The list of speakers included leading experts from European think-tanks, universities and research organisations, such as Charles Grant (Centre for European Reform, London), Antonio Missiroli (European Policy Centre, Brussels) nebo Christian Lequesne (Sciences-Po, Paris). The conference comprised four topical blocs concerned with the most vibrant current issues – economy, energy, transatlantic relations and European neighborhood policy.
