The opening of the final conference of the XXIII season of the Prague Student Summit will take place on March 9, 2018. This will be the culmination of a six-month preparatory phase of the project. This ceremony will be attended by many distinguished guests from diplomacy, politics, public life or the academic sphere. Speakers will addresss the students with their speeches about the importance of education. After the opening ceremony, three days of simulated diplomatic negotations in the Prague Congress Centre.
The opening of the conference will start at 10:00 at the Ambassador Hotel – Zlatá husa in Prague. The guests will first be welcomed by the chief coordinator of the project, Eva Prudilová. Speeches of guests will follow – for example students will be addressed by the rector of Charles University Tomáš Zima, president of the Czech Academy of Sciences Eva Zažímalová, presidential candidate Marek Hilšer or philosopher Václav Bělohradský.
During the morning program, students will also hear the message of UN Secretary-General Anthony Guterres followed by a message from Chif Coordinator Deputies Daniela Chvátalová and Filip Jelínek. Among other guests we will welcome the People in Need director Šimon Pánek or the former diplomat Petr Kolář.
The morning programme will be followed by lunch at 12:30. The afternoon program will be devoted to delegates themselves – high school and university participants of the project, who will stand before the audience
They will present a well-prepared speech in front of their colleagues and other guests. Their speeches will focus on global issues of the world and main priorities of their states, which they will promote during the negotations.
