As a part of the photographic exhibition “Czech Assistance to Afghanistan”, AMO organizes Prague public discussion “Why and how does the Czech Republic Assist to Afghanistan?”, which is held on September 22 at 5 p.m. in the government hall at the Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží).

There will be four panelists at the discussion. Ms. Ester Lauferová, the main coordinator of the Czech-led Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will speak about the purpose and significance of the Czech assistance to Afghanistan, PRT reconstruction and development projects and about the obstacles in their realization.

Major Karel Kout, former member of the military part of the Czech PRT, will describe tasks of the military and cooperation between the civil and military parts of the PRT.

Mr. Sultan Sarwar from the RFE/RL Radio Free Afghanistan will speak about the radio activities, its popularity among Afghan people and will present his views about the current situation in Afghanistan, including the needs and opinions of Afghan people.

Last but not least, Ms. Sabina Středová, security pundit from the Ministry of Defense and Charles University, will elaborate on the present security situation in Afghanistan, future success or failure of ISAF mission and recent presidential elections.

After all panelists finish their speeches, they will be free to answer your questions in the opened discussion.
