Policy paper is dealing with the liberal interventionism as an underlying doctrine of NATO’s out-of-area military operations. The recent cases of NATO operations in Libya, French intervention in Mali as well as the ongoing ISAF mission in Afghanistan are being examined. The paper also covers the future of NATO operations and suggests ways how to mitigate impact of the current budgetary cuts and retain necessary defence capabilities.
The paper was published on the occassion of the international roundtable Prague Transatlantic Talks 2013 held on April 24, 2013 in Prague.
