During her studies she spent two years at Sichuan University and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics Chengdu, PRC. She is currently studying a PhD program in Asian Studies at Palacký University and working for the Alliance for Energy Self-Sufficiency. She gained working experience as a student assistant in the Sinophone Borderlands – Interaction on the Edges, in the Institute of Asian Studies in Bratislava and in the business sphere working for a Taiwanese export company.

Žofia focuses on the issues of Chinese minorities, Chinese inner migration from an anthropological perspective. She is also interested in the topic of renewable energy sector development in the PRC.
