Vilém Řehák is a Research Fellow of AMO. He focuses on the region of sub-Saharan Africa.

Vilém graduated in African studies and Political Science (Faculty of Arts, Charles University) and International Relations (Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University). His main research interest lies in the current political and economic development of Africa and the position of Africa in international relations and the global economy. His doctoral research focused on media discourse and the perception of external economic relations of African countries; it was based on field research in Kenya and Rwanda.

Vilém has been cooperating with the AMO since May 2018. He also cooperates with the Centre for African Studies (Faculty of Arts, Charles University) and he is a member of the Czech Association for African Studies. He worked in different positions in public administration, currently he works at the National Development Bank.
