Barbora Chmelová is a Research Fellow at AMO Climate Team. She focuses on topics of biodiversity conservation, nature restoration, sustainable agriculture, and human-nature interactions and values of nature.

She graduated from MSc in Agriculture and Development at the University of Reading and has worked as an expert for a number of development and international organisations, e.g. in Vietnam, Ethiopia and the Philippines. As part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, she contributed to the preparation of EU positions and negotiations at the UN Biodiversity Conference COP15 in Montreal and the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

She is currently a member of Klaus Toepfer Fellowship for the next generation of leaders in biodiversity conservation, supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).  She is currently working as a Policy Officer at the Department of Species Protection and Implementation of International Commitments at the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic.
